i know from my friend having dealt with it she home cooks but wet food is critical for these guys as kibble is hard to digest more so than wet. Wet has moisture in it

dh bro cat died of kidney failure but was much older and vet told them to have a water bowl in every room to make water always available and change out water 3-4 times a day as water is critical. I would do spring bottled water as that is what i give mine and my demi had an elevated bun on last blood draw before dental and i change out 3-4 times a day as she will not drink unless it is fresh - cats do not drink as much water as dogs and they tend to have more kidney issues than dogs- they had to end up doing sub Q's for their cat toward the end
