Haha!! I totally feel for your roommate! I've only had female dogs as a small child when you didn't notice things like that (should have seen my parents trying to explain to a five year old why the two dogs were stuck together....) As a teenager and adult, we just had male dogs. Now Chloe is female and I've absolutely loved having a little girl. However, half the reason I got her spayed before her first heat was because I didn't know what to expect and figured it was just easier to avoid it altogether!! I would probably have had the exact same reaction as your roommate!
