We had an accident in the family
Rockie & Rustie were playing rough one Thursday evening.. Rockie has tackled from the side but Rustie and fell on her side and wouldnt get up. She was panting hard / coughing but wouldnt move.
We completely panicked to took her to the emergency room to get her examined. Our worst fears came true. Somehow Rockie had internal bleedings in her lugs were filling with blood. The vet was not sure if he could save her. She got medication to stop her bleeding and was put in an oxygen tent. We stayed with her for some hours and decided to go home for some sleep.
My wife want to see her the next morning at 7.30 and Rockie was still under medication. She had been up and about during the night but had been coughing up blood. Not a good sign they said.. Rockie was happy to see Maria and barked and wagged her tail.. Shortly after she feel on her side again.. She was still very very weak. We both had to go to meetings that morning so we left her again with the vet.
30 minutes later the call came. Rockie has past away....................
I couldnt stop crying and my wife completely broke down.. A few hours later I went to the vet and said my good byes. She was in a small box with her little blanket.. She looked like she was sleeping.. So small and so fragile... Now Im crying again but I spend some time with her to say good bye and left her with the vet. She was cremated.
We cannot comprehend hows a pups play could turn into her death.. Vet says that she might have been weak and most likely this would have happened eventually.. We lost our smallest baby... I cant describe how hard it has been and how much we miss her little face.. Rest in peace my little girl! We love you so so so much and we will never forget you!
Have fun playing with lola mom in heaven & wait for us. We love you!!!

OMG, I am so sorry for this great loss. My heart breaks for you. I know what it's like to lose a beloved pet and friend to something "un-natural".. and though we may heal we will never forget the love and happiness they brought into our lives.
Blessings to you, your wife and Rustie... And heavenly kisses for Rockie
