I hope this is exactly what happens with this girl....she's earned it and deserves it....I've heard some breeders place their girls for practically nothing ....even 'give' them to someone where they know they'll be a pet only. That may be rare but I know IF I were a breeder - that's what I'd do.

No it's not rare, reputable breeders place their retired females (even Championed ones) for the nominal fee of spay and teeth cleaning. And a lot of times for no fee. Eldery people just want a dog to love and take care of, but don't want the work required with a pup.
