I've been reimbursed. But it appears they have a vet staff on duty that reviews every claim that is not the usual wellness check, spay/nueter, teeth. So, what they seem to do is invoke their own diagnosis, deny the clam and send you back a letter as to why. At that point you have to go back to your vet....and your vet has compose a letter provide all testing, x-rays, etc along with a letter repudiating their (insurance) own diagnosis. Now, I've always won, but it's a pain in the butt.....and takes several weeks.
Now, I understand that some aren't as disciplined in setting aside that money, so insurance would be the better way to go, that and having a whole seperate credit card set aside to cover the upfront costs.
