I prefer boy dogs for some reason. I think it's just a preference.

I had female dogs all my life and don't get me wrong, they were all great dogs and very much loved, but they were always more independent, stubborn and wanted things their way (gee, sounds like humans, right? ) and Jackson is my 1st male dog. He's been super easy to train because he's so willing to please and very food motivated! I will probably own male dogs for the rest of my life now I also dogsit for 2 male Boxers often and they are just sooo loving and follow me everywhere and always wanna be close to me, as well as my moms friends 2 boy dogs I sit for, they are the same way. I love my boy dogs! Jackson got neutered at 6 1/2 months old and has never marked indoors, on a person, on another dog, or anything. He lifts his leg outside on trees where other dogs have been etc but he squats to pee. He humped a lot before he got neutered, but the only thing he will hump now is this 1 teddy bear... my dads spayed female dog humps way more than him! So, it can go both ways!

I think it's just a matter of preference. Some people love having the girls to dress up (they have more clothes options lol) and some people don't like dealing with the 'jewels' hanging around (haha! - that's why my dad never liked male dogs before, he thought it was gross that their stuff was just all hanging out, lol)
