You may know this, but one mistake many people make is that when antibiotics are given the whole amount must be used, even if the dog or human is doing better. The doctor always tries to give enough to kill off even the remaining stubborn bacteria, and many times people stop it as soon if the dog appears to feel better. The problem with this is that those remaining bacteria start multiplying and they are slightly resistant to the antibiotic; so another stronger antibiotic has to be given next time. So always use the full dosage until the bottle is gone. This isn't true of benadryl or pain medications, only antibiotics. Glad he's doing better!
