This happen to Brandi too. I had to take her to the vet. When my mother was in hospice, I wasn't as attentive as I usually am. I normally clean Brandi's butt regularly but with everything I was going through, I was just making sure she was fed and walked. Well, poop had gotten stuck and I didn't noticed. So it just build up until she couldn't poop. I had to rush her to the vet and he told me had I waited a few more days, she could of gotten really sick. He cleaned her up (actually he had to shave the poop off because it was so hard) and gave her a shot of anti-biotics and some ointment for her butt. Ever since than, I always make sure her butt is shaved and wiped.
