What a great post Nancy! It's so hard to watch, but it's so important to be educated.
I got Rory from what I realized was a puppy broker (probably the lowest of the low) after joining YT and finally educating myself.

I was so sick to my stomach for days thinking what her mom's life was probably like. I just knew my next dog had to be a puppymill rescue, which is exactly what Lane is. We are very lucky that Lane has come out of her shell in many ways, but there are still plenty of times that you can see her past has had a lasting impact on her. Unfortunately, the guy I got Rory from appears to now sell maltese too.
On a lighter note, I'm happy to report that pet store down the street from us is going out of business!!!

We only recently moved here, but I was very tempted to stand out front with Lane and her before pictures of her previous home, err rabbit cage filled with feces.
