This could basically be my answer.

I'm 30, work in child care, and am married without children. We cannot afford one, plain and simple.

We get asked all the time, and any little inkling of weight gain and it's the "omg, are you pregnant?" questions. I gain all my weight in my belly so it's very annoying. Not only am I sensitive about my belly weight, I hate people assuming I'm big enough to carry a child!

While I do work, I take school on the side. He just graduated University (he's 30 as well, was a welder prior) and is going back to College this fall to get a Diploma. It'll only take a year and it's his fall-back because he didn't get into Teacher's College. I, on the hand, have a Diploma in similar field, but need a different Diploma to get a full time position so I'm working on it! I already work in the field, but need that peice of paper to apply for permanent positions.

So once we're done school for good, we plan on moving back to my hometown so we can live comfortably, get jobs, and start the baby train! That'll still be a few years though!!

I can't live on this kind of salary in Toronto, have a child or two, and live comfortably. Ya right. Neither can he, since we'll both be in child care.
