when i heard that i was speechless... | You misread the post.
Historically tail docking was done to prevent tail injuries in working dogs. Yorkshire Terriers were originally bred in Yorkshire, England to control the vermin in the mines and sewers. Their tails were docked to prevent vermin from biting their tails. You can get more information on the history of tail docking if you Google it.
I had nothing to do with Baby Sweet Pea having her tail docked. It had already been done by her breeder when Sweetie was just days old. I picked her up at 10 weeks of age.
In my original post, I was trying to convey what would happen at my house IF Baby Sweet Pea still had her tail, considering that she climbs like a cat. Her tail goes top speed when she is having her climbing adventures. Just picture what would happen. Unfortunately she has no interest in climbing the bookshelves. A long tail would make an excellent dust mop. I hope that clarifies things for you.
