Remember that vets don't give antibiotics unless they think there's a problem, so your vet was playing it safe. I've seen people let it go too long, and the vet bill was closer to $1000. You should always think of safety first, we had to go to the emergency room twice with Joey in the first year, toy breeds are expensive; the price of the dog is the least expensive part. You did the right thing!
