It is all very dependent on the dogs lineage and coat texture. Silk coated dogs clear very early with some going to platinum to gold. Soft, dark coated/black have a different coloring to their gold......usually a flat tan and are very sooty in coloration. Some of these dogs never really clear to even a tan and remain sooty (black intermingled with the tan).
