How long is it ok to leave in, and should I have times when I just leave it out a few days? Wouldn't you know it, Sarge has plenty of hair. Thanks!

Never leave the band in for more than a day.
When you remove the band, carefully cut it out, do not try to remove otherwise.
My girls hair is super fine also.
We do pony tails and top knots but found that she lost so much hair for a number of reasons.
Turned out that she started thinning in her temple area and wasn't due to hair falling out but due to breakage.
I have used tissue (the kind to wrap rods when doing a perm) to wrap the lock before applying the band. This has helped tremendously.
Also if you can get small (tiny) pieces of silk, edges finished, then you can get different colors to match harnesses, leashes and or outfits
I am going to try this next time.
Due to the loss of hair (breakage) I just cut her hair last winter (on top of head above eyes) so to give her bangs and let it all grow out again.
Fine hair is so very fragile!
