First off I wouldnt suggest keeping your dogs in for months on end... they really do need to get out and see things besides the four walls inside their home.. if its really cold take them to a local store that allows pets and walk around a little, if possible... bundle them up and take them outside.

Jackson is a bigger boy but all winter, I would just bundle him up in his warm coat, and we'd go outside as much as possible. He loved romping around in the snow. My friend's got two little ones though and her girl, Nala is around 5-6lbs and loved the cold and would last a while! Just dress them accordingly
