It is a good idea to get some decent water proof booties for our furbabies for the cold winter. The snow can cause frostbite easily plus protect the feet from salt on the roadways.
I got
these awesome booties (from ebay) for my baby. They actually fit (first ones) and she walks and runs in them.
I also got her a pair of open toed sandels for the summer time to protect her feet from the hot pavement and sand when we go to the beach.
I made her a pair of booties also with leather soles (not waterproof) and lining so when we are gardening she wont get prickles and when walking in the park, her feet safe from spear grass.
All of her footwear stays on by way of velcro. They don't come off!
