First off, welcome to YT from one AL resident to another.

I would suggest taking your time and doing a little more research on the breed (or in this case, both breeds) before actively trying to acquire one. As maryeverret pointed out, there really is no such thing as a teacup. It's more of a marketing term used by shady breeders to describe dogs bred to be extremely small. (Just a hint, reputable breeders breed for health, temperament and structure, not grossly small sizes. ) It's generally one of those things that Yorkie enthusiasts warn against.
Also, if your funds are limited, you may want to consider looking into adopting a rescue or checking with breed specific rescue groups. (Lots of great pets in need of homes there too.) Pups are generally expensive for a reason. By the time you factor in the costs of the dogs, registration fees, whelping and grooming supplies, vet bills, vaccinations, food, medical tests, etc...well, as you can imagine, it adds up quickly. I would be very suspicious of any breeder who asks for such a small amount...makes you wonder what corners they are cutting, ya know?

Yes, YT is full of people who have been there, been in your shoes, made mistakes, learned along the way...in other words, just about anything you can imagine. But, if you truly want to get various opinions and a load of helpful information, it's a great place to be. Just don't get discouraged. Be aware that you have posted on somewhat of a hot topic and may not get the responses you necessarily want to hear, especially when you have your heart set on something. It can be disappointing to be told that there is more than meets the eye to certain situations.
