| I'm lucky and my mom babysits for the lady who does my hair, so she gets us discounts on all sorts of things. I have incredibly thick and coarse hair with weird waves and it frizzes really bad in even the slightest humidity. This lady recommended the CHI iron back when they first came out and got it for me at her cost. I was hesitant to pay even that much but that thing has been a life saver!!!! I've also used one by Uni (an off brand) but I didn't like it as well even though it did have the temperature dial. It seemed to collect gunk on it much worse than the CHI does. I think nowadays, most quality ceramic hair irons (CHI ) are probably about the same though. I sure wouldn't do without one!
