I have a Sedu, which is very comparable to a CHI (from what I've read!) I actually bought mine second hand off a girl who had coarse curly hair. She loved it but got a CHI as a gift so gave up her Sedu. The biggest difference is that the Sedu has a dial to change the heat settings, where I think the CHI is one setting only. And the Sedu also has a swivel cord which I think is very nice! My last straightener didn't and I was constantly straightening the cord back out.
