That does look scary... maybe you can call your breeder and ask, since this is a genetic defect?

According to the website, for small dogs, often all that is needed is a neck brace and some rest, so even if this is the right diagnosis, it's not the end of the world.

Sorry, I don't have any experience with this, so I can't give you advice on whether you should go to a specialist or take xrays. When does your normal vet get back?
