Most charts are estimates and are based on the average puppy, since there is no real life "average", every chart has a "margin of error" or standard deviation. My guess is the margin of error is AROUND 1 pound. This means that your puppy could weigh what the chart says plus or minus one pound. This is still just an estimate, because I don't know the true standard deviation, I'm just estimating.

One of the problems, is that some breeders sell an 8 week old dog, and SAY it's 12 weeks.
