I guess Thor is an angel, relatively speaking! He doesn't like it, but he holds still.

I'm a big believer in desensitization. Take a month to get him used to it. Just show him the clippers and give him a treat the first day. Then rub the clippers on his body and give him a treat. Then put the clippers near his feet, treat. Then put the clippers on the nail, but don't cut, and treat. Cut one nail (make sure those clippers are nice and sharp), praise them to the heavens, give them great treats. Clip one nail a day for a week. Then try clipping a few, etc.

If at any point he panics, back up a half a step, and just stay there, giving him treats until he calms down. Go as slow as he needs.

It sounds monotonous, but take just a few minutes a day for 30 days, and you'll save your pup distress during this needed activity for the rest of his life.
