I would not get yourself all worked up the vet should of never said what it could be bc that is only speculations.
I hope someone who knows more about this stuff will post soon. I am praying that it is nothing serious!! I would be a wreck as well, my Dad always says to me Half the things we worry about never happen and the other half have a solution.
good observation what is the protein count of her food as that very well could also come into play as high protein can affect the kidneys

My demi is not a big water drinker unless it is totally fresh has to be changed 3-4 times a day for her alone and everytime i put a fresh one down she runs over and drinks a bunch of water - i give spring bottled water now as did distilled before and many say distilled does not taste good and they will not drink enough if it does not taste good - i did distilled to avoid tear staining but the switch over to spring no difference
