The doctor called us back into the room and told us that he had bad news, turns out Laylas BUN was elevated to 112! I guess the highest it should be to be in the normal range is 30. He also said that her white blood cell count was high. He told us hes going to send it off to the lab for a second opinion and started us on antibiotics. We are so scared we dont know what to do! He said she could have kidney disease, he also said it could be a whole bunch of reasons why her BUN was elevated, he dosnt know! We are so worried about our baby. Does anyone have any idea of what it could be thats causing the elevation?
that is cause for concern but the creatinine was not elevated so both being elevated i would be more concerned so if creatinine is normal i would not stress too much. My demi was 39 and they freaked me out about it prior to her dental and she was just dehydrated and her globulins were high as she has periodontal disease as well as white blood cell count. She also had a little protein in her urine but she is totally fine. Urine is sometimes more indicative of kidney disease than blood work so how was the urinalysis? If that was fine I would not stress too much about it and see what happens after the antibiotics - which one did they give you ?
