I also recommend the Bona for cleaning. I have laminate but they make Bona for hardwood also. It's the ONLY way I've found that cleans the floors streak-free. As for the dog hair, I think a plain Swiffer would do the trick. I would have loved to have darker floors but am glad we went with a medium color just because living in the country is just asking for dirt inside to begin with. We don't have indoor "shedding dogs" but just the people hair and dirt and dust is bad enough. I actually have an Electrolux Ergorapido (
