The unaltered and healthily bred Yorkie is a vote catcher! I can assure some on the forum that there is a large portion of the US population wishing to see change in docking and cropping legislation. The AKC I would predict are unlikely to go further than to stipulate that both docked and undocked dogs can be shown. As most judges are the breeders little therefore would change their perception of what should be in the line up. It also moves nothing forward for those people wanting to purchase "quality" genetically sound, healthy, undocked Yorkies as pets or for show. |
I will reiterate the AKC does not control the Standard, the YTCA does. And being a member, I don't foresee it being reopened again unless mandated by a National Law.
As far as the large majority of the US Population wishing to see a change in docking and cropping legislation. Unless, there is documentation to that, I don't buy it. And the last time I checked, this is the US and we still have freedom of choice. So, you can make that choice when you purchase a puppy. You live in the UK and that choice has already been made for you.
