It just really bothers be your attitude about elderly adopting dogs and I have seen this before with another person and it is just wrong! Nobody should have that kind of power over others.

Dogs need homes, people need dogs. If they can give the dog everything it needs and they are a healthy active couple, why would it be right to deny them simply on their age!!??

This is what ticks me off with A LOT of "rescues". I adopted a child many years ago and I went through less poking in my life then I did when I wanted to adopt a dog once.. Made me sick..

My friend was turned down because she didn't have kids! Thats INSANE! She cannot have kids and they actually turned them down for that. And then the rescues all wonder why most people just go out and buy a dog.

Please. I am having a hard enough time with all this, I am very capable of re-homing Mindy and I really don't need to be told how to do something
You think you are very capable of placing her? When you are saying that anyone should have a "right" to her??? How many failures should that poor thing endure?

And...you trash rescues? And try to tell us that you went through more to get a dog than a child? Please do tell me what adoption agency you went through. They do not just hand children over willy nilly without background checks!

You say rescue and the way they do things makes you sick? Well, breeders who are not careful about where they place their pups make me sick, but I cannot change that can I? Thankfully they are not all like that....and all rescues are not bad either!

So she isn't a puppy.

I am no longer going to respond to this thread any more.
I did not say you bred her....I have no earthly way of knowing if you did or did not.

As for rescuers blaming breeders for everything...I blame MOST of the problems on bad and/or irresponsible breeders. You can bet your boots on that one!

Call this whatever you want...it is not an attack. So sad that you post here in the rescue and rehome forum and cannot take advice without bashing rescue. Someone tried to offer advice and you start saying that you dont like what rescue does...AND call someone insane for not adopting to a friend of yours because she did not have children. WhatEVER the rescue told her, they had a reason AND a RIGHT! They paid the bills and they saved the pup and they were doing the best they could to find the pup a home. Maybe they really turned your friend down for other reasons and just used an excuse.?? Who knows. But don't be saying they are wrong.
