They have to keep all aspects of the breed in mind when trying to produce their next CH; health, temperament, structure, etc... Most exhibitor/breeders that I have talked to have had to put in a ton of work to even be able to obtain the dogs that they have in their breeding program. They do not go about breeding lightly they have the best interest of their animals, the breed, and their reputation all in mind when producing and placing a litter. I also feel like when someone is breeding for themselves they are less likely to cut corners. I am not saying there are not good breeders out there that don't show or there are not bad breeders that do show because there are always exceptions in every category. But I do think that a prospective owner will have a better chance of getting a yorkie that is healthy and looks and acts like a yorkie should by choosing to support a breeder/exhibitor instead of someone who is just producing puppies.
Wonderful Post......I couldn't have said it better, had I tried.
