Sounds like you made a good choice for both you and your husband!
You probably will be happier with your yorkie anyway, since you stressed that you just wanted company. It's been my experience that yorkies are more for laying on your lap...while shelties are play, play, play, run, run, run, play, play, play, play, play. Probably not a good choice if your husband didn't really want a dog in the first place.
A good friend of mine has a beautiful sheltie...and although I love her...I wouldn't want to live with her 24/7!
