All of these things affect speed. Relatively speaking, pretty much all laptops are fast compared to what they were five years ago.
There's a lot of things to consider, though.
- Do you want a Mac or PC?
- What do you want to use this laptop for? Word processing? Email? Photo editing? Work?
- How much are you willing to spend?
