I called South Suburban Humane Society & they said the ownership of these dogs is still pending due to Brownfield keeps appealing. When I told the Society I was calling the States Attorney (815-937-2930) she was very pleased. Also e-mail SA Boyd (

Dear State Attorney Boyd,
I'm sending this e-mail in regards to the puppymill raid where Kankakee County officals rescued 55 dogs from Karen Brownfield & Patricia Gorecki.
I understand they (Brownfield/Gorecki) are still appealing this seizure.
With the condition of these poor dogs, I don't see where the problem is.
I'm hoping you'll step in & be these dogs guardian & help them find new loving forever homes.
The evidence shows Brownfield/Gorecki are inhuman people w/the greed of money as their goal. It's up to us to stop this type of abuse.
I hope you feel the same way & will do everything in your power to HELP stop this deplorable abuse.
