I was a bit flabergasted, since I never expected this question from this lady. I didn't lose my cool, but reiterated the pet only contract. Her answer was but, she's so adorable and I want one litter out of her, she wanted to stud her with one of my boys and would do it all with my instruction. I went on to tell her that if I wasn't willing to keep her, to Champion her and keep her in my breeding program, why would I allow her to. That still didn't penetrate.....My final question to her was are you willing to lose your girl? Her girl was spayed the following week. |
What happens if you find out that some one who bought one of your pups has breed them? When i got Mabel i also signed a spay contract, i am going to spay her...no question about it! But i did wonder how such a thing is enforced. Mabel is 4 months old but will be spayed before her first heat. I cannot understand why any person would want to breed their own pet! It has to be expensive & dangerous, and if you don't know what you are doing disasterous! and i myself could not bear to sell or even give away the pups as i would consider them members of my family!!I understand why good breeders are so careful in choosing their adoptive parents for their fur babies! Whew! What a resposibility!
