Notice how the site says, We are inspected and accredited by the American Kennel Club, although we are now registering our puppies with A.P.R.I. (America's Pet Registery). All this means is that at one time they may have owned an AKC dog, and at one time they passed inspections, if they are switching to APRI, who does not inspections, you have to wonder why. Here's some information on APRI.
Quote:
APRI - AMERICA'S PET REGISTRY INC. Advertises free registration for commercial breeders. Non Profit 'dedicated to the preservation of the professional pet industry', dogs and cats. Founded by retailers of pets (commercial breeders and resellers). Registries
Even if your friend only wants a pet and never plans to breed or show, she should still buy her dog from a reputable breeder who is doing right by the breed, and only breeding those dogs who are good heathy representatives. Before you know it that pet becomes more than a pet, and becomes an important family member.
