Some folks retire earlier then others and as far as I know they are in their late 50's. Even if in 60's that is still young to me.
Unfortunately nobody can predict how long they will live. I could go tomorrow and then what? Ya i have a husband but he wouldn't know what to do. This is something of course we all should prepare for...ugh..

Not wanting to debate the issue of age but, for myself when considering applicants I want to place my rescues in the best chance for a FOREVER homes as possible so, that the odds of "another" rehoming are closest to nil. There are many senior dogs available & more suitable for a senior couple.
Unfortunately, age should ALWAYS be considered.
