I don't know what the whole story or truth is....there are only sides. And guess we'll never know unless both are in the same room.
However, your YT's experience is not indicitive of what YT is all about. If one listens and participates in the community. Lots of people on here that care about yorkies....and as in anywhere else there are those not so nice people....
