There are so many serious advantages to neutering; for example, you will know that you or Rambo, will never be responsible for puppies born who can't find a good home. You can feel safer knowing Rambo will be protected from certain kinds of cancers; you will also have greatly reduced the odds of Rambo getting hit by a car. Injuries from car accidents are the number one cause of death of unneutered dogs, and Rambo will be much more likely to not runaway. You will greatly reduce the probability of his marking inside, and you will keep Rambo a little boy, instead of a mature male, all great things for pet. The only reason to keep a male intact is if you plan to stud, and the only reason to stud a dog is if he's a great representative of the breed and it would be a crime not to.
Concerning the topknot, I love the topknot, but I think yorkies look great without them too. To me, a topknot is such a part of the Yorkie's heritage, and Joey's the first dog I've had that I could do this, but this is just a personal choice, and unlike neutering affects no one but you. By the way, if you decide to grow it out, next time, the babysitter can leave the barrette out and just brush the hair back, or some people part in the middle. There are some elastic hair bands that are really easy to put in too. |
