I tend to move around a lot
So I have a lot of experience with this
I never wash the dogs bedding before I move, this way when I put it down it still smells exactly like they remember... the first thing I do when I get to the new place is set up their stuff and confine them to one room for the first day.
The most important thing is to make sure they have ID on them AND are confined in a crate during the actual move... they may get nervous and run out the door even if they never do that and if you have movers helping you they will hold doors open and have no concern for the dogs.
Mine usually settle in after a day or so... really the most important thing is that they are getting to come... they usually act nervous when I am packing but once everything is set up at the new place, they know that everything is okay.
