At 2 months old, I would leave dry food and water out for him all day while I was at work. You don't want his blood sugar to get too low. Also, leave his crate door open so he can get to the pad, and gate him off in a bathroom or laundry room with a tile floor. This is what we do with Lexy and she goes on the pad while we are gone. Sometimes she will go right beside the gate on the floor when we come home because she is excited to see us! I try to get her out immediately when I come home, but she is too fast sometimes!
