I say that if you are unsure, then you should hold off on breeding until you've had time to research further rather than breeding her on Monday when you KNOW you are uninformed of some very basic principals of breeding.
What has your mentor advised you? (You do have one, right? If not, you should.) The size of the male and female alone meets very little. You have to consider the size of ALL the dogs in their lines, not just the breeding pair. You can't accurately judge if it will be "safe" for her based on that alone. Also, 'weight' will only get you so far. You have to consider the pelvic structure, among so many other things, as well. |
