The last time they had a fight we had to get out a pair of leather welding gloves to pry Hannah's jaw off of Olivia's neck, so once I realized that Hannah was in it to kill Olivia, I just had to make sure it never happens again. By the way, I forgot to mention that both these girls are retired from breeding and have been spayed but that did not stop the fighting. I probably should find a new home for one of them, it is hard once they have captured your heart, but I have to stop being selfish and realize that both of them would be better off and happier to live apart.
Audrey | I hear ya about the gloves -- I had to use my cane today, and still couldn't get the jaws off of a foot! Hubby finally got them though, now they are as mild as little mice. Of course they are both sore and tired so that helps. The spaying didn't help? Well there goes that idea! Yes, when they capture your heart it is so sad to part with them. Calypso was abused before we got her -- she was really bad off as far as interacting with humans. We felt so sorry for her, and have really pampered her along. She goes into panic mode, when I get the yardstick to measure an afghan, or use my grabber to get something off of a shelf. She used to hide in the corner and wouldn't let us even pet her. Slowly she came out of it, and perks up her ears and runs to us when we call her. But, still, she will be the one that has to go, if we can't get this under control once and for all. Barb |
