My whole family will be praying for your family, I just had a resection in September and was facing the same outcome. It is a huge deal to people who are going through it, and especially at 31. As the post above mentioned though, if colostomy is the outcome, there are many worse things, and they often can be reversed (depending on the reason for it) once things are under control.
