[QUOTE=annette22]Hello Everyone,
I did my research on the internet and have one question. Why on earth people charge such an outrages prices. Yesterday I found a web page that was selling small breed for $10,000!!! Are these people insane??? Anyways, my questions is how these people set prices for dogs.
=========================================
The answer to this question is BECAUSE THEY CAN! A breeder or broker can set the price as high as they wish too. It is the uneducated buyer who gets sucked into these SCAMMERS. That's exactly what they are scammers. No pet/companion is worth $10,000 or even over $2,000.

If I want to purchase a puppy in rage between $500 and $700 does that mean I am getting worse puppy then people that are paying over $1000? Does it mean that the dog might be sick and the breeder just wants to get rid of it???
==================================
Again it only means a breeder sets her prices for what the market will purchase them. Sometimes it also means a less quality dog.....one who may be unhealthy but that's not always the case.

What is the average price for yorkie pup? I also went to puppy stores in my area and they told me prices between $1500 and $2200, and I cannot afford that much. I would really appreciate help. Thanks

The average price for a well bred pet/companion in and around Texas and Louisiana is $800 to $1,500. You should be able to find a really nice pet for $800 sometimes from a show breeder. Also do not get set on a "puppy".....there may be some very nice young individuals available for $500 to $800.....show breeders may keep them for almost a year before deciding to place them in a companion home. Yorkies are a fickle breed!! They will bond at any age to their human.....they will love with all their being anyone who loves them!

And as a side note......If the PAWS bill #1139 passes in Congress it will be about 200 times harder to find a well bred social dog......the PAWS bill will force many small breeders to stop breeding leaving only the commerical USDA kennels or pet store puppies as sources for a puppy. Also the prices will probably skyrocket due to less puppies available and more demand in the market.
