We have tile floors and I didn't want them to jar their joints. |

I have steps for Jada too. Bogie refuses to use them, but he is bigger and a lot sturdier. I have a set at the couch and loveseat and one at the bed. Before I was sure she would use them all the time, I too had pillows lined all along the floor in front of the couch and loveseat. I was terrified of her breaking a leg or worse. She would come flying off the couch if she heard something and go running at breakneck speed to the door. She still runs like a maniac if she hears something outside, but she always uses her steps. I keep mine on rubber backed bathroom rugs to keep them from sliding around on the hardwood floors. They will scoot around if you don't have a carpeted floor.
