Hi,

I live in Canada and we travel with our dogs to the States yearly. To bring any dog 3 months old or older into Canada, you just need a rabies certificate. Same thing in the other direction, rabies certificate for dogs 3 months and up. I have never been asked for a health certificate but I guess sometimes they ask, so I always have them. I understand they have to be dated within two weeks. Hope this helps.
If they ask for a health certificate (either country) and you don't have one then you have to wait at the border for the customs vet to come and you have to pay some outrageous fee to have the dog examined and clear you.
