I'm not sure about animals but Propofol is the white liquid that is injected into your IV before you drift off to sleep. Usually it will burn as it is given into an IV since it is an irritant as vaso. After you are sleeping then the gas of choice & oxygen, but I do not think Isoflurane is used in people any longer. Then you are intubated and given oxygen.

I don't know a lot about Vetrinary surgery so I was wondering if just the Propofol could be used but maybe not

Yes, Propofol is what MJ was given that caused his death but let me add that drug is not for administration at home and ONLY should have been administered by a licensed Anesthesiologist or Nurse Anesthetist!
