Dogs suffer cancer after ID chipping
Of all the millions of dogs that have been microchipped, only one has been thought to have anything at all to do with the microchip, and even in that case other things cannot be ruled out. In the link you posted, the doctor says, "I was previously suspicious of a prior unrelated injection site reaction" beneath the tumor. "However, it is possible that this inflammation is associated with other foreign debris, possibly from the microchip."

This means that Scotty has a reaction to injections, and if your dog has a reaction to injections, you might want to avoid microchipping.

I just want to add; I'm always suspicious of an announcement such as this where no names are given. Vets are glad to give their names, but when it's done like this, it's impossible to check the source. Remember microchipping has been around for twenty years, and is considered one of the safest procedures out there. We will hear more and more stories like this because the AKC is mandating that breeders chip their dogs, and many states are trying to pass mandatory microchipping laws for commercial breeders and commercial breeders are fighting this, and they believe that if they can scare enough pet owners, they will help stop these mandatory microchipping procedures. I hope the people of YT are savvy enough to see the truth.

Please talk to your vet if you have any concerns, I have read all the studies, and there is no reason to be alarmed.
