First of all welcome to YT!!
Finding the right vet is more important than finding the right doctor (in my opinion). I explain this by telling my perspective puppy owners...I can tell the doctor my symptoms and where it hurts...your dog cannot. So vets need to be able to LISTEN to the owners. If you vet does not listen to what you say he is missing half of the puzzle. SO if you are not happy find another one. Ask pet owners that you know and trust if they would recommend their vet. Ask on her if anyone is from your area and has a great vet.
I LOVE my vet. I met him about 10 years ago, when I came in he first introduced himself to my dog, pet him, and then shook my hand and asked me what I knew about my dogs issues. He listened to everything and asked me many questions. I learn something from him just about every time I go there (at least twice a month). I trust him fully.
They are out there, you just need help finding them. Hopefully a YT Floridian will come on with a great vet...good luck in your search..
