Ok so my 4 1/2 month old little boy jumped off the deck, landed in the azaleas and trotted off proud and wagging his tail. That was a 5 foot drop. He saw his "puppy daddy" leave the yard. I almost had a heart attack but tried to be calm and picked him up to inspect the damage. He was ok but I think he scared himself or he sensed my fear. He immediately wanted into the house but is going down the stairs now. The deck has about a 4 inch gap at the bottom of the rails all around. Do I secure it with something or just watch him? Do they learn their lesson? I certainly don't want any broken bones on my boy. Thanks.
