It sounds to me like you are in a situation that you are not quite sure how to resolve or financially capable of changing. If you have thought rehoming him through and have come to the decision that he needs a new home that it fine~IMO and we all just need to move forward and stop trying to change your mind. There are plenty of members on YT that would be willing to offer him a home but I do not know if you will be able to find someone willing to pay your current price.
