If I recall correctly some of the pet insurance policies provide "care" provisions offering a certain $$ threshold for pet care should you become incapacitated. Obviously that may only offset the expense associated, not provide you the answer for how that care is offered. But it could be a financial aid if you chose, for example, to have the pup boarded
